Collingwood News

Comments on Collingwood's injury list by Director of Football Neil Balme:

Brenden Abbott (shoulder): Brenden has a shoulder problem but he will certainly miss the remainder of the season and is certainly long-term.
Tim Broomhead (shoulder): Tim is coming on pretty well. He’s running and there’s some chance that he might play, but we certainly won’t push him.
Travis Cloke (calf): Travis is going well with that calf. He certainly has to get through training but we’re pretty confident that he’ll be available to play.
Nathan Freeman (hamstring): Nathan has had a little bit of a recurrence of the hamstring (injury). He’s not too bad, but he’s a little bit sore. We need to see how he settles to see how we can get him back on track. He’s certainly short term at the moment.
Corey Gault (groin/hip): Corey, who has been battling through a bit of groin and hip problems in the last couple of weeks, is a little bit sore. We think we’re more than likely to pull him out this week to give him a chance to recover and get back to his form. So he’s short term.
Brent Macaffer (knee): The great news is that Caff will be available. Brent Macaffer, after that knee reconstruction, should play this week in the VFL. He will probably only play three quarters of the game but we will be really pleased to see him back. Let’s get down to Victoria Park and have a look at him and welcome him back. He’s not short-term, medium-term or long-term - he will play. It’s great news for Caff.
Adam Oxley (hip): Adam has had a few problems. He’s been rested and is a bit sore in the hip as well. He’s missed the last fortnight but we’re pretty hopeful that he’ll play this week.
Jackson Ramsay (shin): We’ve said Jackson has been a bit slow with that shin problem that he’s got. He’s most certainly on the way up, but certainly still very slow and will be medium term. He’s a little bit unlikely to play even later this year but we haven’t given up just yet.
