Collingwood Magpies AFLW Player Profiles For 2017 Season

PART of Australia's biggest sporting club, Collingwood's women's team will be keen to impress. Marquee signing and star full-forward Moana Hope has been the face of the campaign so far but also watch out for captain Stephanie Chiocci and talented young ruck Emma King.
Take a look at the Magpies' full squad below:

COACH - Wayne Siekman
Coached the Victorian Metro Youth Girls to national titles in the past two years and has been a senior assistant at TAC Cup outfit Dandenong Stingrays.

1. Caitlyn Edwards
Age: 20 Hgt: 167cm
Defender
East-Fremantle flanker who is attacking with good pace; perfect for a dangerous small forward. Can also run through the midfield so a versatile package. Good kick on either leg.

2. Alicia Eva
Age: 25 Hgt: 163cm
Midfielder/forward
Disciplined and quick, makes excellent decisions. From the Melbourne Uni club, also a promising young coach, aiding her understanding of the game. Can kick left and right.

3. Penny Cula-Reid
Age: 28 Hgt: 164cm
Defender
Experienced senior player known who captained St Kilda Sharks. Reads the play well, is a good kick and has great knowledge of the game.

4. Sarah D'Arcy
Age: 25 Hgt: 171cm
Forward
Classic hit-up forward who will keep presenting all day and has an incredible set of hands. Kicked 30 goals last year for Eastern Devils at VFL Women's level.

5. Emma Grant
Age: 20 Hgt: 166cm
Forward/midfielder
Served as captain of Bendigo's VWFL team last year. Has great game knowledge; the ultimate utility that can and has played anywhere.

6. Christina Bernardi
Age: 19 Hgt: 167cm
Forward/midfielder
Kicked 33 goals last year at her VFL Women's club Diamond Creek as a small forward. Possesses a smart footy brain and an even better work ethic.

7. Lauren Tesoriero
Age: 30 Hgt: 170cm
Midfielder/Forward
Strong-bodied player from Eastern Devils who uses the ball well. Sets a great example with her work ethic. Impact player with a good kick.

8. Brittany Bonnici
Age: 19 Hgt: 163cm
Midfielder
Top young midfielder who wins her own footy and a natural leader. Played in an AFL exhibition game for Melbourne as an 18-year-old.

9. Melissa Kuys
Age: 29 Hgt: 166cm
Midfielder
Experienced running mid who uses her body well and is known for leading by example. Works hard and resilient. Left-footer which is a point of difference.

10. Kendra Heil
Age: 28 Hgt: 168cm
Forward/midfielder
Canadian who will miss the first AFLW season after rupturing the ACL in her left knee during the first days of training. Luckless, as she sat out last year with a ruptured ACL in her right knee.

11. Helen Roden — FULL PROFILE
Age: 30 Hgt: 175cm
Midfielder/forward
Former college basketballer in the United States and has had some expert advice in making the transition to Australian rules — her brother is former AFL midfielder David Rodan.

12. Stacey Livingstone
Age: 29 Hgt: 176cm
Defender/Midfielder
Hard to hold out one-on-one and a long kick. Has played lower-level football, at Port Melbourne, as a ruck and forward. Fearless.

17. Stephanie Chiocci (capt)
Age: 28 Hgt: 170cm
Defender/midfielder
Dynamic on the field and effervescent off it, "Choch" was a natural choice for skipper. Captained the Bulldogs in last year's AFL exhibition match. Lightning quick and great skills.

18. Ruby Schleicher
Age: 18 Hgt: 175cm
Ruck/Forward
Made the jump from under-age to senior football in WA last year and ended up first ruck for East Fremantle in the grand final. On the rise, and fast. Big leap and exciting.

19. Louise Wotton
Age: 33 Hgt: 178cm
Ruck
Veteran who actually gave football away two years ago to tackle ironman triathlons but the bug bit again after last year's big exhibition game. Was captain of top club the Eastern Devils for 10 years.

20. Cecelia McIntosh - FULL PROFILE
Age: 37 Hgt: 161cm
Defender
Close-checking defender with much success in other sports on her CV — she's a Commonwealth Games silver medallist in javelin and has also competed in Winter Olympics in bobsleigh. Has had some tough battles with now teammate Mo Hope.

21. Nicola Stevens
Age: 23 Hgt: 173cm
Defender
Melbourne Uni player who can perform a multitude of roles down back. Has plenty of dash and is an excellent intercept mark.

22. Sophie Casey
Age: 25 Hgt: 165cm
Forward/midfielder
Originally from Holbrook, developed her game with Eastern Devils in the VFL Women's league and could be a lively type playing off a forward flank. Good foot skills and quick off the mark.

23. Moana Hope
Age: 28 Hgt: 170cm
Key forward
One of Collingwood's marquees, the full-forward with the great goal sense has quickly established the Mo Ink brand. Things happen when she's around — kicked a ton last year for St Kilda Sharks.

24. Kate Sheahan
Age: 35 Hgt: 165cm
Forward
Highly-skilled and fresh to the game after many years concentrating on running her tennis coaching business. Daughter of former Herald Sun chief football writer Mike Sheahan.

25. Meg Hutchins
Age: 34 Hgt: 174cm
Defender
Veteran who has been a star for a decade and will be the general down back.. Also a member of the Pies' brains trust as women's football operations chief.

26. Tara Morgan
Age: 27 Hgt: 168cm
Defender
WA import who captained South Fremantle last season and won the club's best and fairest. Dogged in the contest, always seems to get a spoil in. Has improved her fitness vastly.

27. Jess Cameron
Age: 27 Hgt: 162cm
Forward
Lively goalkicker and former international cricketer who is coming off a successful return to top cricket with Melbourne Stars in the WBBL. Great overhead and skilful on both sides of the body.

31. Georgia Walker
Age: 18 Hgt: 166cm
Midfielder/defender
Turned 18 only in December and chosen as a replacement for the injured Kendra Heil after playing in a practice match against the Pies. Rated by the Pies as a natural leader.

33. Bree White
Age: 35 Hgt: 158cm
Midfielder
Played for Melbourne in exhibition games of recent years and known as an all-day runner. Former under-23 national cricketer. Consistent performer.

38. Amelia Barden
Age: 23 Hgt: 167cm
Midfielder
Two-time Diamond Creek best and fairest winner. Classy and strong-bodied midfielder with a strong commitment to the defensive side of the midfield role.

43. Jasmine Garner
Age: 19 Hgt: 175cm
Forward
Double act with Mo Hope for St Kilda Sharks in VFL Women's last year, kicking 41 goals from centre half-forward. Has worked on her fitness and looks an exciting prospect. Pies will be hoping for similar double delights.

60. Emma King — FULL PROFILE
Age: 22 Hgt: 186cm
Ruck
Pies had no hesitation reaching across the country from WA to make King one of their two marquee players. Great tap ruck who has starred for the Bulldogs in exhibition games and can push forward.
