Player Profile: Quinten Lynch

A cult hero with West Coast fans for more than a decade, Quinten Lynch is the first player to join Collingwood ahead of the 2013 season as an unrestricted free agent.
The strongly built Sandgroper made his name as a key forward for the Eagles but has shown the capacity to take a spell in the ruck where his mobility and strength have helped relieve Dean Cox at different stages throughout his career.
In the last nine years, Lynch has played less than 20 games in a season only once, underlining his remarkable durability.
He was a key figure in West Coast's third premiership in 2006, kicking a team-high three goals in the one-point win over Sydney.
Lynch has also proven himself to be a reliable finals performer, kicking 22 goals from 14 finals. Collingwood fans will be pleased to see him in their colours after he kicked three in what threatened to be an upset win to West Coast against the Magpies in the 2011 Qualifying Final.
In 2011, he led the Eagles for marks (157) and inside 50s (118) and kicked 28 goals, and missed only three games in 2012 en route to kicking 33 goals including two bags of four.
Collingwood fans will enjoy watching the charismatic Lynch go to work in attack, where he gained cult status due to his penchant for throwing his trademark glove aside after marking within range of goal.
Draft History: 2002 Rookie Draft selection (West Coast) No. 19; 2002 rookie elevation (West Coast).
