Fast Fact
Collingwood and Melbourne have played in front of 7,334,639 people in their 229 meetings since 1897.

Collingwood will be forced to take on Melbourne without Taylor Adams, with the midfielder sidelined by a toe injury.
Four players are vying for his place in Monday’s side after the match committee added Tim Broomhead, Sam Dwyer, Ben Kennedy and the untried Brayden Maynard to its extended interchange bench.
The Magpies will finalise their team for the Queen’s Birthday at 5pm on Saturday evening.
Adams has already missed a match this season as a result of his injured toe, originally sustained in the loss to Adelaide in round two.
“Taylor has finally succumbed to that toe that has been giving him bother over the last couple of weeks,” Director of Football Neil Balme told Collingwood Media’s Team Sheet.
“He’ll miss a week.”
Collingwood Media looks at the form line of the four players added to the 25-man squad for Monday’s clash. All four performed strongly in the VFL team’s 38-point win over Coburg last week.
2. Sam Dwyer
Statistics:
7 kicks, 3 marks, 7 handballs, 14 disposals, 1 clearance, 2 inside 50s, 1 rebound 50, 1 tackle, 1 goal
Notes: Dwyer’s feet would have been getting itchy in the first half as AFL emergency duties restricted him to the bench. He came on in the second half and immediately had an impact as he took a mark on the lead and kicked a goal.
7. Ben Kennedy
Statistics: 18 kicks, 2 marks, 20 handballs, 38 disposals, 7 clearances, 9 inside 50s, 4 rebound 50s, 4 tackles
Notes: Kennedy’s run and carry was evident as he continuously broke through the Coburg congestion. His nine inside 50s showing his attacking intent.
29. Tim Broomhead
Statistics: 9 kicks, 0 marks, 22 handballs, 41 disposals, 12 clearances, 7 inside 50s, 1 rebound 50, 7 tackles, three goals
Notes: Massive day for Broomhead who was everywhere after being dropped from the AFL side. He started the game on fire and didn’t drop off, kicking the opening goal of the game and then two more afterwards.
37. Brayden Maynard
Statistics: 8 kicks, 4 marks, 1 handball, 9 disposals, 0 clearances, 2 inside 50s, 0 rebound 50s, 0 tackles
Notes: More positive signs for Maynard who appeared composed with the footy in hand. Used the ball at 88.9 per cent efficiency.
The quartet joins Jarrod Witts, Jordan De Goey and Adam Oxley on the extended interchange bench.
Collingwood has not lost to Melbourne since round 11, 2007, though the two teams drew their Queen’s Birthday clash in 2010.
Since the tradition was reignited in 2001, the Magpies have won nine of a possible 13 matches.
