Collingwood football manager Neil Balme has given Magpies midfielder Adam Treloar the all clear after he limped off the track early at the Holden Centre on Friday.
The 23-year-old participated in match simulation but caused some concern when he reported to the club's medical team just before the session ended.
However Balme reassured fans via Collingwood's official Twitter feed that Treloar, who had surgery in the off-season to alleviate a groin issue, was unscathed.
"All players got through training. Adam Treloar left the track a couple of minutes early but he's fine," Balme said.
The 23-year-old stood out in the Magpies' final NAB Challenge match against the Western Bulldogs and the club hopes he will play against the Sydney Swans in round one at the SCG.
Balme also said he was pleased to see Ben Reid get through the session.
Reid suffered a slight setback to his calf a month ago but the Magpies have remained adamant that it was only minor and he would be back on track to play early part of the season. He remains however in doubt for round one.
"It's good to see Ben Reid get through the session. We're happy with the way the squad is looking as we move towards our first game," Balme said.
Collingwood has officially ruled out Jamie Elliott and Jeremy Howe ahead of round one.
