ON THE BLOCK: Young Magpie Brodie Grundy was OK in the ruck and should be squeezed out with Darren Jolly in the wings. Substitute Josh Thomas could come under scrutiny operating at just 60 per cent efficiency.
ON THE CUSP: Expect Darren Jolly to be recalled with Swans pair Shane Mumford and Mike Pyke on the horizon. Kyle Martin deserves another crack before the whips start cracking for the Pies. Alan Didak would be another in contention for Saturday night’s clash with Sydney.
FORECAST: It’s all or nothing over the next month for the Pies with crunch clashes against Sydney, Hawthorn, West Coast and North Melbourne.
