Collingwood key defender Ben Reid has been cleared of any structural damage to his right knee after being assessed today by orthopaedic surgeon Dr Julian Feller.
Reid, 22, was substituted during the third quarter of yesterday's NAB Cup triumph over the West Coast Eagles after landing awkwardly on his knee in a contest.
While Reid will be unavailable for this weekend's upcoming fixture against the Brisbane Lions at Etihad Stadium, the 2011 All-Australian will be treated clinically as he seeks to return to full training in the coming weeks. Collingwood Director of Football Geoff Walsh said: "The outcome of today's medical assessment is positive. Ben won't play this week but beyond that we don't feel it will cause any interruption to his season."
