Collingwood's healthy selection problems will reach a new level this week with four of its potential best 22 players set to put their hands up for re-inclusion in Thursday's match-up against Adelaide.
Last week's bye has given mid-sized defenders Nick Maxwell (back), Alan Toovey (hamstring) and Alex Fasolo (toe/foot) every chance to recover and make themselves available for the game at Adelaide Oval, while midfield runner Clinton Young (corked leg) also is in the frame as long as he passes a fitness test.
The Pies have covered a raft of injuries to their defensive unit so far this season thanks to the emergence of players such as Tom Langdon, Jack Frost and Lachlan Keeffe and now, with the list nearing full strength, an intriguing match committee looms this week.
"Maxwell, Toovey, Fasolo, Young, all those guys got through training today, so they will all definitely be in the mix," Pies football manager Rodney Eade said after training on Sunday.
"Everything has gone well for us over the break. That, of course, creates a selection dilemma for us, but it’s a dilemma we are happy to have."
Eade said another rebounding defender, Ben Sinclair, was likely to resume after a hamstring strain.
