Collingwood News

ROUND 8: MAY 9-12 BYE

ROUND 9
Collingwood v Adelaide
Thursday May 15, 7.50pm
Adelaide Oval
Fox Footy / 7mate 7.30pm
Five established senior Magpies will undergo fitness tests ahead of the May 15 game against Adelaide.
Sam Dwyer (knee), Alex Fasolo (toe), Nick Maxwell (back soreness), Alan Toovey (hamstring) and Clinton Young (corked leg) have each been listed as ‘test’ on the club’s official injury list.
In other injury news, Ben Reid (calf) and Ben Sinclair (hamstring) are still estimated to be 1-2 weeks away from resuming their seasons as they overcome persistent leg injuries, and young defender Adam Oxley will wait at least one more week before returning from an ankle complaint.
Nathan Freeman, who damaged his hamstring tendon against Geelong during the NAB Challenge, remains three to four weeks away from a return.
"He'll need to do a little bit of high intensity work, then get into the footy work," Director of Football Rodney Eade told AFL Media.
Three players are still considered to be at least six weeks away from resuming.
Quinten Lynch (broken leg) and Corey Gault (broken collarbone) will be sidelined for some time after sustaining injuries in the VFL last Saturday week, while a return date is yet to be set for top draft choice Matthew Scharenberg as he recovers from surgery on both feet.
