ROUND 8: MAY 9-12 BYE

ROUND 9
Collingwood v Adelaide
Thursday May 15, 7.50pm
Adelaide Oval
Fox Footy / 7mate 7.30pm
Collingwood will have a host of currently injured players put their hands up for selection for the trip to Adelaide on May 15, according to Director of Football Rodney Eade.
In his weekly Blackmores Injury Update, Eade said Sam Dwyer (knee), Nick Maxwell (back), Alan Toovey (hamstring), Clinton Young (corked leg) and Alex Fasolo (toe) are all optimistic of meeting the Crows in the club’s first match at the revamped Adelaide Oval.
Dwyer was the only fresh injury out of the weekend.
He was substituted out of Friday night’s win over Carlton at three quarter time after hobbling from the field with 20 disposals to his name.
“Dwyer hurt his medial ligament on Friday night but the prognosis has been quite positive,” Eade told CollingwoodTV.
“He will be able to have light training this week with the thought that he will be available for the Adelaide game.”
Maxwell and Young, both late withdrawals 90 minutes before Friday’s game, are also in the frame to return after the bye.
Young missed the match with a cork to the leg sustained in a clash with Paul Chapman during the gripping ANZAC Day win over Essendon.
“He did a test on the Friday morning to see if he could play Friday night. Unfortunately he didn’t pass that,” Eade explained.
“That set him back a little bit, only by a couple of days, but again, we’re quite positive he’ll be able to train later in the week and again next Sunday with the view that he will be able to play the Thursday in Adelaide.”
Collingwoodfc.com.au will publish an updated injury list on Tuesday ahead of the team’s bye weekend.
